15 Minute Taco Turkey Burgers
Life is busy, we all know this. So I try to find recipes that are super quick and easy, with as little clean up as possible, yet still delicious. And this is probably our biggest go-to at home. If you have been over to our place for dinner, chances are you’ve had these at least a time or two.
Taco Turkey Burgers. They are seriously delicious and the easiest thing to make. Simply take one pound of ground turkey and one packet taco seasoning and mix! Thats it. Mine makes four patties which I just pan fry on the stove, but if you want to fire up the grill they are delicious there as well.
I pair mine with guac usually, but even with some chips and salsa, a lil sour cream or queso, these are delicious. Even my one year old LOVES them!
Some people find Guacamole intimidating, or don’t know exactly what to put in there, but we have avocados in the fridge nearly all the time. I think the key to great Guac are ripe avocados. You don’t want them to be firm at all, or it becomes hard to mash and the flavor and texture just don’t seem right. From there it is based on personal taste what to put inside. We put lots of cilantro, red onion, garlic and salt in ours, mostly because those are the items that are generally always in our fridge. If we are feeling really fun with the it, I love throwing in a squeeze of lime juice and a splash of orange juice.
I am generally the “taste, don’t measure” kind when I cook, but for those of you who desire more detailed ingredients this is what I used to make our dinner last night:
Taco Burgers: 1 lb ground turkey and 1 package taco seasoning – Mix well, form four patties, brown on stove top until done inside.
Guacamole: 2 ripe avocados, 2 tbs cilantro finely chopped, 1 tbs finely chopped red onion, 1 squeeze lime juice, 1 tsp orange juice, and salt to taste.
*If you want to make these extra healthy for your family, you can make your own taco seasoning to keep on hand. I’ve found a recipe here that looks great and I’m dying to try it and compare.
